Women Making History

  • Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame
The Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame is an educational outreach organization whose mission is to honor publicly the achievement of Connecticut women, preserve their stories, educate the public and inspire the continued achievements of women and girls. Founded in 1994 in Hartford, Conn., the Hall fills the void that traditional curricula still fail to address and, today, stands as the state’s premier source for Connecticut women’s history with 99 Inductees. These women’s lives and accomplishments are celebrated and documented through a wide spectrum of innovative statewide programs offered free of charge to Connecticut citizens.
  • Women in Congress
"This Web site, based on the book Women in Congress, 1917–2006, contains biographical profiles of former women Members of Congress, links to information about current women Members, essays on the institutional and national events that shaped successive generations of Congresswomen, and images of each woman Member, including rare photos."
  • Women of Our Time
Dynamic online exhibit from the Smithsonian
  • Council of Women World Leaders
"To promote good governance and enhance the experience of democracy globally by increasing the number, effectiveness, and visibility of women who lead at the highest levels in their countries."
