Objectives

This guide will help you be able to :

  • Use background resources (encyclopedias, books, major subject specific Web collections, general interest databases, etc.) both online and in print to help you choose an interesting topic for research
  • Explore subject and interdisciplinary databases for useful previous research and communication of scholarly thought
  • Create effective keyword and subject searches using library databases for locating secondary sources on a topic
  • Refine your research topic using limits and other research strategies
