The Diversity Advisory Team has limited funds available with which it hopes to co-sponsor student programs and activities with the UConn Cultural Centers and Student Organizations. For funding application and guidelines, please click here.

This guide is a starting point for locating different types of resources that are specific to diversity.

Upcoming Diversity Events

Poetry & Music with Joy Harjo 

Thursday, October 20, 2011 

5 pm - 7 pm at the Student Union Ballroom

Joy will engage the audience with a reading of her poetry and entrance us with a musical performance either alto saxophone, flute, or both. Her most recent CD release is a traditional flute album: "Red Dreams, A Trail Beyond Tears." She performs nationally and internationally with her band, the Arrow Dynamics. She also performs her one-woman show, "Wings of Night Sky, Wings of Morning Light," which premiered at the Wells Fargo Theater in Los Angeles in 2009 with recent performances at the Public Theater in NYC and La Jolla Playhouse as part of the Native Voices at the Autry. She has received a Rasmusson US Artists Fellowship and is a founding board member of the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation. 

Students $2, Non-Students $5

Co-sponsors include the USG, Subcommittee on Diversity & Multicultural Affairs, Diversity Advisory Team, English Department, Native American Cultural Center, Literatures, Cultures Languages Department, School of Fine Arts, Women’s Studies Program, Aetna Chair in Writing Uconn Co-Op.
